HYPNOSIS IN HISTORY

Hypnosis is an ancient practice which we find the first traces in Sumerian tablets dating from -4000 BC. History teaches us that the Greeks and the Egyptians have also practiced trance and medicine dreams.

In France it was in 1718 that hypnosis emerged through the work of Franz Anton Mesmer. It is the time associated with magnetism. In 1814, the "hypnotic" word is registered in the dictionary of the French Academy. Between 1882 and 1892, the neurologist Jean-Martin Charcot, described as one of the hysteria symptoms.

In the 20th century, it was Milton Erickson, American psychologist and psychiatrist who played a fundamental role in the renewal of hypnosis. Its innovative approach to psychotherapy based on the conviction that the patient has in him the resources to respond appropriately to situations they encounter : it is therefore to use his skills and personal coping capabilities. The hypnotist invites the subject's subconscious to get rid of problematic behaviors and replace them with healthy, positive behaviors.

Milton Erickson protocolised and materialized hypnosis. Lessons from his practice gave birth to Ericksonian hypnosis.

Ericksonian Hypnosis

The Ericksonian hypnosis is now recognized by health professionals as a brief therapy oriented solution. It differs from certain practices , such as psychoanalysis , whose goal is to understand the origin of a problem. In Ericksonian Hypnosis , the goal is resolutely turned towards the solution and the achievement of a result set quantifiable.

Thus, in a limited number of sessions, it is possible to activate the change fast, deep and lasting .

Scientific studies and documented many items recognize the benefits of hypnosis in supporting smoking cessation, the release of phobias, traumas, managing emotions, and addictive behavior such as bulimia ... The scope is broad and non-exhaustive list.

DIFFERENCE WITH HYPNOSIS SHOW

The Ericksonian hypnosis, as I practice is clearly distinguishable from the show entertaining hypnosis single vocation. The staff working objective is therapeutic , and replaces the sensational and bizarre objective sought by the public in hypnosis shows cabaret. Both have in common run through the will of the subject that goes by its receptivity suggestible to hypnosis. That is why the first step before the consultation is to determine an engaging and clear goal of work .
