Gurwann Tran Van Gie is hypnotist, director and performer. He lives and works between Paris and Groix Island in Brittany.
The Ericksonian hypnosis
Master practitioner certified in Ericksonian Hypnosis and RITMO with
A.R.C.H.E, in psychopathology by The Indigo Institute. He practices in his practice and remote support by skype. He regularly collaborates with specialized doctors and psychologists, especially on eating disorders.
His travels have led him to practice hypnosis and to accompany clients located in Montreal, New York, Los-Angeles, Reykjavik, Tokyo, Sydney or Christchurch.
He is also involved in the association Les Hypnos du Coeur for hypnosis support for people in distress. He continues his engagement with the Action Hypnosis intervention group in emergency situations. The group intervened for a few sessions with migrants on the Jean Quarré site, in the 20th arrondissement of Paris.
Eager to continue his learning, he integrated other therapeutic practices and trained in Family Constellations, EFT, and the MIRTE Method. Installed since 2018 on the island of Groix, his practice extends to shamanism in connection with nature and the elements. He organizes seminars and workshops in this sumptuous and powerful environment.
Films and contemporary art
In 2009 he co-wrote and co-directed with Arthur Dreyfus the short program series of humor Un film sans, two seasons were broadcasted for the TV Chanel Tps Star.
In 2011 for the TV Chanel France 5, he directed shorts documentaries for the cultural program Entrée Libre.
In 2013, as curator, he initiated the exhibition No longer at the address (N'habite plus à l'adresse indiquée) at Chanot Art Center in Clamart, where he invited the singer Barbara Carlotti to partake the "carte blanche". Twenty artists were presented, including Bernard Faucon, Eva Nielsen, Thomas Levy-Lasnes, Laurent Pernot or José Levy. For the exhibition he directed his first experimental feature film Pretty Memories, a regression under Ericksonian hypnosis, practice he exercises at the crossroads of art and therapy.
In 2015 he was invited to produce a Solo Show for the 15th edition of the festival Hors Pistes at the Centre Pompidou Paris. He directed that occasion HONEST EXPERIENCE, a hypnotic film about the issue of integrity with actress Kate Moran, dancer Massimo Fusco, composer Alex June, and journalist and writer Blandine Rinkel. The film has been followed by a group hypnosis session with the audience. HONEST EXPERIENCE has since been presented in Istanbul, Kyoto, Tokyo, Rosario and Reykjavik.
In 2016 the collaboration with the Centre Pompidou continues, with NORTHERN EXPERIENCE, a film exploring the artistic creation under hypnosis , shot during a residency in Iceland with Thomas Clerc french writer and Icelandic artist Asdis Sif Gunnarsdottir .
In 2018, he is invited by Arthur Nauzyciel for a Carte Blanche at the Théâtre National de Bretagne in Rennes, where he created TEMPETE SOLAIRE. In this intimate show, he transposes his art and science on stage, offering festival-goers a 75-minutes collective hypnosis experience, his voice guiding the viewer on an unconscious journey set to live music by the music band Catastrophe. The show is mainly based on the synchronization with the energy brought by the public, each representation has the character of unique human adventure.
The radio and the medias
On the national radio station France Inter in 2011, he performed a recurring segment on weekly program Chantons sous la nuit.
In the summer of 2013 in the cultural magazine Je vous demande de sortir , he was the mastermind behind voicemails left by imaginary listeners. From the fall of 2013 to the summer of 2014, his segment Le répondeur fantasmé was featured daily on the access-prime-time radio program Encore Heureux presented by Arthur Dreyfus.
For the programs Face B presented by Bertrand Burgalat and Cosmic Fantasy Presented by Barbara Carlotti, he has appeared for poetic happening .
In 2017, he realized the Transe-Portrait column in the fashion magazine Citizen K. An unprecedented hypnosis interview proposal, striving to offer a personality a strong personal and existential experience, during a dive into his subconscious .
For PLANÈTE + channel, he directs and embodies the documentary "Why do they hate us, we homosexuals ?". Produced by Camera Subjective, whose first broadcast is in November 2017. The documentary hailed by the critics is named for the Out d'or awards 2018.
